Listen Up: Authors Dan Wakefield, John Green on the Radio
You read about them in Indianapolis Monthly, now hear them on the radio: Indiana authors Dan Wakefield and John Green join host John Krull on the weekly talk show No Limits, airing on WFYI 90.1 FM on Thursday, Sept. 27, at 1 p.m.
Wakefield, a native Hoosier and Kurt Vonnegut confidant, wrote the classic 1970 novel Going All the Way, set in Indianapolis. He recently returned to the Circle City after spending most of his adult life on the East Coast, and he chronicles the homecoming in “All the Way Home,” an essay appearing in the October 2012 issue of IM (available on newsstands on Monday, Oct. 1). Wakefield also edited a new book of never-before-published Vonnegut correspondence, Kurt Vonnegut: Letters, excerpted in the October issue and previewed here.
IM deputy editor Daniel S. Comiskey interviewed Wakefield about one of his favorite haunts for “A Night at the Red Key” in April 2011.
Green, an Indianapolis resident, writes wildly successful young-adult fiction. His debut effort, Looking for Alaska, received the Michael L. Printz Award, and his most recent title, The Fault in Our Stars, is a number-one New York Times bestseller. IM profiled the author in January of this year.
Laura Wills, development coordinator for the Indianapolis Public Library Foundation, will also appear on the program.
