Comedy Central Show Parodies DePauw University

Comedy Central’s Drunk History featured DePauw University and a famous alum last night in one of the show’s tipsy reenactments, but school administrators probably weren’t laughing. The bit, which featured scientist Percy Julian, who graduated first in his class in 1920 and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, focused on Julian’s struggles with the campus’s treatment of black students. Actor/writer Allan McLeod, the story’s impaired narrator, says that Julian (played by comedian Jordan Peele of Key and Peele) was only able to live on campus by working as a butler in a fraternity house and making its basement his living quarters.
