Meet Wild Championship Wrestling Outlaws

The term “professional wrestling” conjures images of muscled-up giants like Hulk Hogan or Steve Austin, showcasing a mix of athleticism and flair for the dramatic to legions of fans. Wild Championship Wrestling Outlaws (WCWO) of Indianapolis may not provide quite the same quality you see on TV, but they do create a captivating evening of gladiatorial fun and entertainment.

For one, these wrestlers are not giants among men. They are couriers, pipe workers, and even high school students delighting fans at matches for more than 20 years now, the last five of which have been held in a warehouse at 1151 South Kentucky Avenue, just southwest of downtown. WCWO’s men and women (yes, there are a couple) take up battle every Friday with up to 10 matches per show. Onlookers of all ages cheer and jeer local stars like JKO, Jonathan Lone Wolf, TJ Kemp, and Hillbilly Jed. In true professional wrestling fashion, each event offers a spectacle of heroes and villains, twists and turns, and characters of all sorts both inside the ring and out.

You won’t discover a wrestling superstar here. What you will find is a one-of-a-kind night of crowd-pleasing pomp usually reserved for the cheap seats at Lucas Oil Stadium.
