Spotted: Andrew Luck Plays Cowbell at MGMT's Indy Concert
It may be that never-ending neck beard, but nothing about Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck screams, “I’m an MGMT fan.” On Friday evening, one night after leading the AFC South–leading Colts to a win over their division rivals, the Tennessee Titans, Luck and offensive tackle Anthony Costanzo were at Old National Centre to take in the band’s brand of trippy pop-rock.
The Colts duo wasn’t there just to take in hits like “Electric Feel” and “Time to Pretend,” though. During the show, the players were invited on stage to lend their hands in entertaining the crowd—and this involved each wielding a drumstick and banging away on a giant cowbell. Now that screams “neck beard.”
Luck once revealed he keeps a good number of Bruce Springsteen songs on his iPod–a far cry from the “psychedelic-ness” of MGMT—in addition to tracks by Young the Giant, a band that formed on the campus of Stanford University at the same time Luck played there.
As for the concert, it cannot be confirmed whether Christopher Walken was in attendance, but we’d like to think these players’ performances on his favored instrument wouldn’t have left the actor asking for more.
