Butler's Bulldog Mascots Get Mashable's Attention
Butler University’s men’s basketball team has permeated NCAA hoops news this season already, with splashy victories over then-No. 9 North Carolina and then-No. 1 Indiana. While the success of Brad Stevens & Co. is grand recently, the same can be said of a certain four-legged aspect of the squad.
Mashable.com recently highlighted the school’s English Bulldog mascots. Butler Blue II and Blue III are always increasing in popularity, allowing fans to put their paws together not only for the team but for this adorable tandem as well. The much-ballyhooed No. 2 dog has more than 11,000 followers on Twitter at present—and his own blog—as “understudy” No. 3 lags, tail between his legs, no doubt, with about 6,000 tracking his tweets. As Mashable aptly notes, Blue II also has presences on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, and Ustream channels. That’s a lot to bark about.
Thus fans across the country feel like they know the pups personally—wait, personally?—and some will quite likely venture out to meet up on the current national Big Dawgs Tour. Woof!
Butler basketball is on an exciting, wild ride, and Blues II and III are enjoying it all—head out the window, tongue flapping in the wind.
