Chatter: Ashley to Dario, “Let Me Drive!”

Earlier this spring, listeners of NPR’s weekly Car Talk radio program got a surprise glimpse into the married lives of actress Ashley Judd and two-time Indy 500 champ Dario Franchitti.

Judd phoned in for advice: How to get hubby to let her drive on family outings?

Here’s a snippet of her call:

“My question is one that perhaps a lot of women can relate to. In my family, I never get to drive. I have not been deemed a bad driver. In fact, pretty much the only gender-based compliment I could ever think of that’s positive was the first time I drove with him in the passenger seat. He was like, ‘Yeah, you drive like a guy.’”

“I have driven with him in the vehicle once in three years,” Judd confessed.
