Eric Gordon to Visit Assembly Hall for Today’s IU-Purdue Game

You might see a familiar face in Assembly Hall during today’s rivalry matchup with Purdue (2 p.m., ESPN): former North Central High School phenom and IU star Eric Gordon.

The NBA lottery pick and current New Orleans standout tweeted early this morning that he was “headed to Assembly Hall to watch the HOOSIERS take down Purdue. #iubb.”

Although Gordon’s single-season tenure at IU ended on a sour note (read: Kelvin Sampson), he never lost the love for his Bloomington alma mater. In fact, he’s been a reliable social-media cheerleader ever since.

Here’s a recap of some of his recent IU Twitter love:

Feb. 7: Reppin’ HOOSIERS!! pic.twitter.com/hbZO8uHM

Feb. 7: Checking out the HOOSIERS tonight. Never wanted to lose to Illinois. Remember that 3pt bank shot to put it in OT like it was yesterday.

Jan. 31: Go Hoosiers!!!!! We will always run the state of Indiana. #boilerdown

Jan. 27: Always protect home court #iubb.

Jan. 12: Big test for my Hoosiers today. Lets get a WIN!!!! #iubb

Dec. 31: IU playing well so far. I want to see Cody Zeller be more of a bully out there. Everyone else is playing there role very well. #iubb

Dec. 15: If your not watching #IUBB vs. #Butler then your missing out. I think HOOSIERS will pull it out.

You might recall that “E.J.” also browsed some cream-and-crimson gear in his breakout Adidas commercial last year:

From one Hoosier fan to another: Welcome back to Indiana, Mr. Gordon.
