Inside Track: Good Deal on Derby and 500 Tix

As you might have heard, another big May race, the Kentucky Derby, is coming up this Saturday. For the first time ever, Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Churchill Downs have partnered to offer a special “Horsepower vs. Horsepower” (get it?) ticket promotion to race fans and revelers hearty enough to attempt trips to the Derby and the 500 in the same year.

And at $115, it’s a good deal. Here’s what you get with the Party Pack, available through May 3 (tomorrow!) at imstix.com or churchilldowns.com:

  • General admission tickets to the Derby and the 500, as well as tickets to the warm-up Kentucky Oaks horseraces this Friday and Carb Day at IMS on May 25.
  • Admission to a specially designated area near the stage during Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Carb Day concert.
  • Front-row access to hear electro superstar Benny Benassi in the IMS Snake Pit on race day.

If you were to buy all those tickets separately, you’d spend $130—and not get the perks.

Why did it take marketers 100 years to think of this?
