The Replay: Yogi Ferrell, Paul George, and Larry Bird

» The Old College Why: Puzzling. Indiana junior Yogi Ferrell announced (well, his father Kevin Ferrell Sr. announced) that he’s announcing whether he’ll stick around for his senior season or turn pro on April 25 at Ruth’s Chris’s 96th Street location. Given that mock NBA drafts and scouting reports suggest no such option exists, most feel the LeBron-esque event is all sizzle, no steak.

 

» Adding Insult to Injury: Paul George, who missed most of the 2014-2015 season because of a horrific injury to his right leg, felt a “pop” in his left one during the regular season-finale and had to be carried off the court. The Pacers went on to lose to Memphis, 95-83, and were eliminated from playoff contention. The good news is that George appears to have just strained his calf. The bad news is that next year he might strain his back. The Star‘s Gregg Doyel points out that the roster is larded with some horrible contracts.

 

» Bird Shot: Pacers president Larry Bird on center Roy Hibbert’s player option/future with franchise: “Whatever he does, he does.”

 

» Run For It: At his pro day, IU’s Tevin Coleman, a potential first-round pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, ran the 40-yard-dash in 4.39 seconds—the underclassman literally running as fast as he can to get out of the Hoosiers football program:
