“When I’m supporting all my weight with my forearm, it may not look like much, but it isn’t easy. When my partner spins me like a helicopter, sometimes I get dizzy and feel like my eyeballs are going to pop out.”

The Broadway star visited Bloomington to receive an award from his alma mater, and he talked to us about working with Robin Williams, his role on an NBC drama, and the fear that motivates him artistically.

“I really want people to know how my story started and the values and hard work that I embody,” he says. “A lot of my friends are from these amazing mountain towns. I want people to know that where I come from, it’s different. I hope it says something about my character.”
