As the pandemic slowly subsides and diners return to tables, we celebrate the 25 best places in the city to do just that.
These are complicated times for food lovers. We’ve watched the restaurant world struggle over the past two and a half years. Some places didn’t survive the pandemic’s sucker punch. Others are hanging on for dear life. And the lesson we learned through it all is that we still aren’t out of the woods. So we won’t hang a “Restaurants are back, baby” banner just yet. But we will continue to celebrate Indy’s finest dining spots—from a bustling carryout counter for chicken wings to a quiet meditation on sushi—in this annual roll call of culinary superlatives that seems as essential this year as it’s ever been.
