This month marks the return of the Indianapolis 8 Hour, an endurance race, and the latest test of the Speedway’s year-round durability. But can it last?

“The two people who influence our destiny the most are the engine manufacturer and the tire manufacturer,” says Team Penske engineer Ron Ruzewski. “The only thing we don’t control is the space between the car and the ground.”
