As IndyCar drivers prepared for the 2015 Indianapolis 500, their families got in some playtime during a photo shoot outside the Pagoda at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Revelers in the Indianapolis Motor Speedway infield cut loose at the 2015 Snake Pit Party. What did you miss? Music, beer, cutoffs, tanks, groping, and—judging by the photos, at least—a damned good time.

One driver’s Jack Russell terrier is to IndyCar what Blue III is to college basketball.

Saturday in downtown Indianapolis, the 500 Festival Parade featured floats, fans, celebrities, and plenty of excitement as the city gets in the mood for the 2015 Indianapolis 500. Notables in attendance included Pacers Paul George and Frank Vogel, Indy 500 drivers Helio Castroneves and Scott Dixon, and former Colt and restaurateur Gary Brackett.  

“We’re not nervous about the large audience. We’re nervous about the history of the song and the expectations that the people of Indiana have for that moment.”

Racing greats past and present were in high spirits at Friday’s 2015 Indianapolis 500 Carb Day.

“Honestly, I really do feel like if Paul were alive, I would love to just sit down and watch this movie with him,” says Carolla. “I don’t think he’d necessarily appreciate a retrospective on his film career, but I think he would love this movie.”

“In a last minute sponsorship, Coke Zero agreed to be on James Davison’s car. They have zero calories, and James has zero chance of winning.”

Is there an article of clothing or certain material, utilitarian and distinctively Indy, that could give the 500 the signature fashion statement it’s missing?

“It’s just a different era,” says Daly. “I feel like there’s about 100 different people who come up every day and tell me if I was racing 10 years ago, I would have been hired instantly.”

Spotting is no small job. “You screw up,” said Wheeler, “it’s big.”
