A law enforcement leader says 92,000 comers descended on Indy Pride’s annual LGBT festival downtown, with roughly 35,000 goers at the companion parade.

“When I build a team, I want diversity,” says Fever head coach Lin Dunn. “I imagine a team like a bowl of fruit: apples, peaches, pears, bananas, and some nuts. Different perspectives and different personalities. You can’t have too many nuts, though!”

Grammy nominee Mary Lambert will sing, as will Indy’s own Men’s Chorus. And there will be pets.

Those 2014 Cadillac Barbie Pride Parade grand marshals include “a Bag Lady, an Indiana Fever guard, and two prominent soldiers in the battle against HJR-3.”

“It will be a great experience for all of us to join together in community for a goal—equality and acceptance,” says Fever player Layshia Clarendon.

The chiseled, twang-centric sensation Steve Grand will perform on the main stage at the festival on June 14, with his viral hit “All-American Boy” in tow.

The Girl Pride concert will showcase Lambert’s ability to elaborate freely on topics ranging from her love life to her abusive past.
