Adam Wren

Adam Wren writes about business, politics, and crime for Indianapolis Monthly—often in the same story.
He has reported on two Indiana governors, a lawyer admitted to the bar with a manslaughter conviction, and a Myanmar refugee who fought on both sides of that nation’s civil war. Wren started writing for IM in 2010, after earning his master’s degree in journalism at Northwestern University’s Medill School. At Medill, he completed a digital journalism fellowship with the Carnegie-Knight Initiative’s News 21 program. Before grad school, he studied English, politics and writing at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, served a short stint as a communications staffer in the Indiana Statehouse, and wrote for several small-town newspapers. He has worked as a researcher on several books, including Atari founder Nolan Bushnell’s Finding the Next Steve Jobs, and Jon Marshall’s Watergate’s Legacy and the Press: The Investigative Impulse.
A regular contributor to POLITICO Magazine, he’s also written for Inc. and Entrepreneur. Follow him on Twitter @adamwren or visit his website at adamwren.me.
