What We’re Really Doing This Weekend: Dachshund Races, Amy Schumer, and Cubs Games

  • Holding our sides at Bankers Life Fieldhouse as Amy Schumer does her thing Sunday.
  • Cheering for any dachshund wearing a tutu in the Germanfest weiner races at the Rathskeller Saturday, and checking out custom dog beds at Indy Urban Flea, taking place in conjunction with the festival.
  • Arriving early to snag a seat at our favorite Cubs bars for this weekend’s playoff games.
  • Crouching to admire kid-height art at Secret Doors, an exhibit opening at the Stutz building during First Friday tonight.

  • Searching for gourds, cockscomb, and other fall goodies at the Broad Ripple Farmers Market Saturday morning.
  • Mingling by the Lucas Estate’s pool at Saturday night’s Coburn Fest fundraiser.
  • Shopping for a snappy cap at the No Bad Ideas p0p-up shop, a Zionsville accessories line, at the Murphy Building’s Do 317 Lounge Friday night.
  • Browsing the free Monument Circle Art Fair Saturday.
  • Combing the $1, $5, and $10 racks at Lux and Ivy‘s season-ending sale Friday night.
  • Giving thrifted chairs the “wiggle test” at the Salvage Sisters’ Antique Market anniversary party in Franklin Friday night, then catching Alien at The Historic Artcraft Theatre.

  • Contemplating beachy waves Sunday at Kiss Kiss Bang Bang salon’s Cut-a-thon, when all donations ($30 minimum) for cuts and blowouts go to Kountry Kitchen’s mission to feed roughly 3,000 people during the holidays.
  • Bracing ourselves for another Colts loss.
