Peyton Manning Finds 'Greener' Pastures in Colorado

Former Colts great Peyton Manning has continued his winning ways since leaving Indianapolis for the Denver Broncos. And off the field, it seems, he’s reaping the harvest of Colorado’s Amendment 64, which legalized marijuana use in the state.
In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated‘s Peter King, the quarterback acknowledged that sales at his 21 Denver-area Papa John’s franchises have been on fire since a certain law (which he doesn’t mention by name) took effect.
“There’s some different laws out here in Colorado,” Manning told King. “Pizza business is pretty good out here, believe it or not, due to some recent law changes.”
Last year, TMZ reported that daily sales at some of Manning’s stores had increased from about $3,000-plus to $5,000-plus.
Manning started pitching for Papa John’s—whose founder, John Schnatter, hails from Indiana—ahead of the 2011 Super Bowl.
