The Replay: Dick Vitale, IU, and Paul George
Every Friday, we post up The Replay, our look at sports. We take shots—mostly airballs.
No Vitale Signs
College basketball analyst Dick Vitale became an honorary Hoosier this week when he appeared on The Dan Dakich Show to express his disappointment in Tom Crean’s 5-3 squad after its 20-point loss to No. 7 Duke. “I thought that this Indiana team was going to be special, I really did, and now I wonder,” said Vitale. If you’ve lost Dick Vitale … wow. Just wow.

Gameday On
The crew from ESPN’s College Gameday will post up in Pan Am Plaza in advance for Saturday’s B1G Conference championship between Michigan State and Iowa. And with stars Rece Davis, kooky Coach Corso, Cheez-It dupe Des Howard, and Herbie comes EXCITING news:
The B1G Conference just sent an email to media members detailing times that College Gameday hosts will be available to the media. Ok.

But not the cool Herbie 🙁
Paul (George) is (un)Dead
Wondering if Paul George could ever come back from that horrific leg injury and be the same player? He can’t. He’s better. The Pacers’ Lazarus was named the NBA’s Eastern Conference Player of the Month for games played in October and November. Though George had an off night against Portland on Thursday and Indiana had its six-game win streak snapped, he still added his considerable highlight reel.

(Little) Giant Steps
No. 7 Wabash College is playing third-ranked St. Thomas (Saint Paul, Minnesota) in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III Football Playoffs on Saturday. DePauw isn’t.
