RECAP: Winterfest 2013

Tickets for Winterfest, Saturday’s beer event at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, sold out quickly, and scalpers with extras were scarce at the event. Along with the snaking lines outside of the Fairground’s Agriculture and Horticulture building and inside at the more popular tents, signs point to this being one of winter’s most popular Indy events. Proceeds benefited Joy’s House.

First-time 500 driver Wade Cunningham hosted the affair, where dance songs zoomed by as uproariously as an Indy car, and where the day’s big winner himself elected to celebrate race night.

The Rev Your Engines concert on Monument Circle tonight features headliners the Plain White T’s (9 p.m., Sat., free), the pop-rock crooners whose recent hits are by now as familiar and well-worn as, well, your favorite white T-shirt.
