The Feed: BBQ Barn, LongBranch, And More

» The team behind Tinker Street and Festiva is at it again. According to the Indianapolis Business Journal, Peter George and Thomas Main are opening BBQ Barn (1215 E. 16th St.) right next to Festiva (one of our picks for Best New Restaurants). The new lunch spot is expected to open in June with limited outdoor seating, focusing on carry-out business. Chef de cuisine Blake Ellis, who helped open Tinker Street, will be the pit master.
» LongBranch (2205 N. Delaware St., 317-602-6726) launched a Sunday buffet, where $24 gets you all you can eat from 3 to 9 p.m. (with $4 bloody Marys and sake mimosas).


» Cannon Ball Brewing Co. (1702 Bellefontaine St., 317-426-5978) is collaborating with Bee Coffee Roasters for a special brunch service on Sunday, May 7. Cannon Ball chef Erin Kem will do beer-batter waffles with sweet and savory toppings from 10 a.m. to noon, while Bee Coffee matriarch B.J. Davis makes coffee drinks. Brunchers can also wash down their waffles with a cold-brew coffee-infused IPA.
» Wildwood Market (1015 Virginia Ave., 317-737-2653) is bringing back its popular cheese and charcuterie snack packs. The on-the-go goodies start at $4.


» Monarch Beverage and Lawrence Community Gardens are teaming up to farm six acres of undeveloped land, donating the produce to local food pantries and area residents with limited access to grocery stores. According to the Indianapolis Star, Sharrona Moore, director of the Lawrence gardens, approached Monarch CEO Phil Terry about the idea for the property at 46th Street and Post Road, and Terry immediately said yes. The first harvest of the project is expected to be ready in May.
