The Feed: Cheese Class Is in Session at Goose and The Latest Noah Grant’s News

» Goose the Market (2503 N. Delaware St., 317-924-4944) is hosting monthly guided cheese tastings with Katie Finley, head cheesemonger and frequent Goose rep at the American Cheese Society national conferences. The classes are designed to educate attendees on the history of the cheeses, how they were made, and good ways to showcase them with other foods. Tickets include a glass of beer or wine, plus charcuterie accompaniments and a take-home Moleskine-style journal printed just for Goose. Tickets are $25 per person (plus 20 percent gratuity), and advance registration is required.

» The new 21 North Eatery and Cellar (21 N. Jefferson St., Martinsville, 765-315-0767) is bringing its meat-centric, protein-rich menu (think pork-belly BLTs and duck wings) to the far south. It’s open for lunch and dinner Monday through Saturday.

» Cannon Ball Brewing Company (1702 Bellefontaine St., 317-426-5978) is celebrating its first anniversary on Indy’s east side with a party on November 12. There will be live music, beer tappings (including barrel-aged brew), and a special menu of goat ropa vieja from chef Erin Kem.

» Noah Grant’s Grill House & Oyster Bar in Zionsville is using Instagram to give customers a steady stream of updates on its new location. No firm opening date has been set, but the restaurant is taking reservations now at its website for seatings beginning on November 22. Owner Shari Jenkins had already announced a planned move to the Carter Building at 91 South Main Street when the original location at 65 South First Street was damaged in a building fire in September.

» Indiana Grown, an initiative of the Indiana Department of Agriculture to promote local food producers, is hosting its first Coffee Connect this Saturday at Bent Rail Brewery (5301 Winthrop Ave., 317-737-2698). Roasters from all over the state will have samples of their products, and offer tips on how to grind and brew the best cup of coffee at home. Bent Rail Brewery will be serving a special brunch menu with local foods at this family-friendly event.
