» SoBro’s Twenty Tap (5406 N. College Ave.) reopens today (August 22), six months after a kitchen fire led to the temporary closure of the taproom and restaurant.
» Good news, fellow worshippers of Chicago-style hot dogs: We finally have an opening date for Portillo’s in Fishers. The Illinois-based chain will open its 52nd location (the first in Central Indiana) on September 26. We don’t mean to be bossy, but get the onion rings with your dog. Trust us.
» Forbes weighed in with recommendations on the best places to eat and drink in Indianapolis right now, giving props to the “democratic and creative food scene” in town. The editors charted a meal course for the whole day, starting with Coat Check Coffee in the morning (401 E. Michigan St., 317-550-5008), wrapping it up late-night at Bar One Fourteen (114 E. 49th St., 317-916-0114), with stops at Love Handle, Garden Table, Stella, and Festiva in between.

» The owners of St. Elmo Steak House and Harry & Izzy’s are putting the finishing touches on Burger Study, an upscale burger restaurant inside Circle Centre. Management is holding a job fair this week at St. Elmo for front- and back-of-house positions. They anticipate a September opening.
» Speaking of St. Elmo Steak House (127 S. Illinois St., 317-635-0636), there’s a new dessert option at the downtown favorite that raises money for Riley Hospital for Children. Server Sara Wessel won an in-house baking competition for a spot on the menu, and her winning chocolate-chunk toffee cookies are served with milk from Traders Point Creamery.
