The Feed: Milktooth After Hours and Other Tidbits

If you’ve been jonesing for some Milktooth (534 Virginia Ave., 317-986-5131) in the evenings, you’re in luck. This week the Fletcher Place brunch favorite launches a bi-monthly evening party called Night Sister, overseen by Milktooth bartender Amy Sawyer. On January 24, a $5 cover charge gets you a night of art and music, with food by chef Jonathan Brooks and drinks from the Milktooth cocktail crew.

Sun King Brewing announced today that it will open a brewery in Fishers. According to Inside Indiana Business, the two-level facility will offer a 3,000-square-foot rooftop patio and event rental space.

The Patachou Foundation is launching a fundraising initiative called The Kids Table. Members of the community are invited to host dinner parties in their homes, and set their own personal fundraising goals. The Patachou team will provide a host kit that has everything you need to get started, including invitations, place cards, and a custom Spotify play list. Every $5 raised at a Kids Table dinner party will provide a scratch-made meal for a food-insecure child in Indianapolis. The Patachou Foundation serves 1,000 meals every week in after-school programs.

Moontown Brewing Company (345 S. Bowers St., 317-769-3880) is now open in the old Whitestown High School building on the west side of Indianapolis. The brewery, pub, and event space will have its official grand opening in March, but is now serving a dinner menu of small plates and sandwiches nightly, with smoked chicken and spare ribs available on the weekends only.

Tickets are now available for the Fantastic Food Fest, coming to the Indiana State Fairgrounds (1202 E. 38th St.) on February 10 and 11. Celebrity chef Sarah Moulton is the headliner for the two day event, where hundreds of exhibitors will set up for tastings, demos, workshops, and book signings. General admission starts at $16. There will also be hands-on cooking classes available for an additional fee (starting at $75), with Moulton, Butcher Babe Loreal Gavin, Bravo Top Chef’s Casey Thompson, and many local local chefs, including Ben Hardy (Gallery Pastry Shop), Brad Gates (Hedge Row), Tanoria Askew (Tanoria’s Table), Craig Baker (The Local Eatery & Pub), Steven Oakley (Oakleys Bistro), and Tony Hanslits (Nicole-Taylor’s Pasta). The full list of classes and chefs is at the website.

MashCraft Fishers is now open (11069 Allisonville Rd., 317-863-5165). This is the third location for the family-friendly brewpub, joining spots downtown (2205 N. Delaware, 317-602-2552), and Greenwood (1140 N. St. Rd., 317-.215-1578).
