Wanted: Philippe Model Hidden-Wedge High-Top

French designer Philippe Model is known for haute sneakers (call them “trainers” if you’re Euro like that), and 8 Fifteen recently began carrying the label, seen on Gwen Stefani. The “Acier Alta” in gold ($411) with fur lining and a concealed wedge heel represents fall’s sporty-luxe trend. “Last year it was a little more underground, but this year it has really hit the mainstream,” says 8 Fifteen co-owner Claire Bolles. “We’ve had clients buying this shoe that I never thought in a million years would.” She recommends wearing it with black leggings tucked into the boot or with jeans rolled up just enough to show a sliver of skin above the shoe. 815 E. 65th St., 317-253-1234, 8fifteen.com.
