Hot On the Trails: Greenwood’s Tracy Trail
TRACY TRAIL
Length: 1.5 miles / Surface: paved / Location: Greenwood / Connects to: Smith Valley Road Trail, Polk Hill Trail
POINT TO POINT
At either end of the trail, Summerfield and Craig parks—and Woodmen Park, midway between—have playgrounds, soccer fields, softball diamonds, and a BMX course, plus parking and restrooms.
STOP AND GO
Not ideal for distance at 1.5 miles, the Tracy is well suited to casual runners and quick-cardio seekers: The few roadway crossings are perfectly spaced for breathers.
MISS THE BUS?
A trail spur runs next to Greenwood Community High School. Teens can ditch the carpool and walk, bike, or skate the winding trail to class.
HIGH CULTURE
A pedestrian bridge crosses Smith Valley Road and connects to the Polk Hill Trail. East from there is Art on the Trail, a collection of outdoor sculptures that changes every five years.
