Realty Check: There’s a Doctor in the House

Downtown developers are rolling out new amenities, such as dog-wash rooms, infinity pools, and putting greens, desired by millennials and baby boomers alike. Recently, in hopes of wooing prospective tenants even more, two apartment and condo builders established relationships with hospital networks to put physicians under the same roof as their patients.
The contemporary Artistry complex, 554 apartments in the Market East district, has secured a partnership with IU Health, offering primary care and sports medicine on the Artistry’s property. The office is also connected to radiology and physical therapy offices, making those time-sucking follow-ups that much easier. “If you’re feeling under the weather and don’t want to jump in your car or ride your bicycle, all you have to do is either ride the elevator down or walk across the street, and you’re there,” says former Artistry spokesperson Ryan Lints.
Buckingham’s CityWay, located at Delaware and South, also offers a bevy of health services. The addition of Franciscan Health to CityWay was part of the larger health initiative forged among the YMCA, Franciscan, and Buckingham Companies. Like Artistry, CityWay’s doctor’s office sees patients for family and sports medicine, physical therapy, labwork, and imaging, and it adds obstetrics and gynecological services from OB/GYN of Indiana, colorectal care, and massage therapy to the mix. House calls, though? Still a thing of the past.
