The Hot List 2.28.14

Melting Pot
As part of a spring 2014 trend Nordstrom is calling “everyday exotic,” this Diane von Furstenberg “Fit and Flare” dress (pictured, left; $495, The Fashion Mall, 317-810-9809, nordstrom.com) will be available in the Indianapolis store any day now. Nordies says this season’s prints are “inspired by exotic textures, old-school dye techniques, and traditional patterns from around the world, but they’re designed so that you won’t quite be able to put your finger on their origins.” Flashback to Patricia Clarkson’s running joke about Mila Kunis in Friends with Benefits.

Wrist Watch
Designer Julian Mejia, known for fine tabletop products, came out with a leather-and-brass napkin ring this season, and everyone thought it was a bracelet. The designer went with it, and that’s how they’re being sold. Available at Charles Mayer (5629 N. Illinois St., 317-257-2900), the Hermes-inspired cuff with chunky details does indeed fit a wrist. It comes in multiple colors for $56 each. We love them as a hostess gift.

Over the Moon
The annual Rusted Moon Outfitters anniversary sale (6410 Cornell Ave., 317-253-4453, rustedmoonoutfitters.com) kicks off today and runs through Sunday, March 2. Select merchandise, like the Outdoor Research “Crush” hoodie (pictured), is 40 percent off. Don’t be surprised if you get sidetracked by Go Pro cameras, the popular gear adventure-sports enthusiasts are wearing to record every flip and freefall.
