Great Gift: The Humor Book

THE HUMOR BOOK
David Letterman and Bruce McCall released a book today satirizing the outrageous whims of the super-rich. This Land Was Made for You and Me (But Mostly Me) (Blue Rider Press, 2013) contains illustrations of fictional zillionaires and the spoils of their obscene fortunes, like a private cross-country tunnel made of California’s giant redwoods. Yes, Letterman, who owns a big ranch in Montana, is aware of the irony—and The New York Times review addresses it. (McCall, a regular contributor to The New Yorker for more than 30 years, presumably isn’t doing too badly, either.) $17.50. In stock at these Barnes & Noble stores: Indianapolis (8675 River Crossing Blvd., 317-816-1370), Carmel (14709 U.S. 31 North, 317-844-2501), and Noblesville (17090 Mercantile Blvd., 317-773-7952).
