Okay, so the Hoosiers didn’t finish their exciting 2012–13 season on the high note IU fans had hoped for. No need to belabor that point.

Just two short weeks ago, Indiana was even with the likes of Duke, Miami, and Kansas on the list of teams most likely to win this year’s NCAA title. Not anymore.

The winner of the Big Ten will be a team like the Badgers who can score road wins and protect their own house. The problem is that by the end of the year, the highest ranked Big Ten team may not even be in the top 10.

Even Indiana fans must have known this day was coming. Rarely do teams run the gauntlet of a season without losing. But judging by the way Jordan Hulls angrily wrenched away from a teammate offering to console him following his failed (wide left) last shot in Butler’s upset of Indiana Saturday, I believe that Hoosier thought his team was going to win every game.

“I felt like when I played—just like when you watch Jordan [Hulls]—it’s almost like we have to do everything right, because we’re not as athletic as everybody we play against.”

The Indiana University men’s soccer team can expect to see a familiar face in the stands when they take the field today (2 p.m., ESPNU) in the NCAA College Cup Final against Georgetown: men’s basketball star Jordan Hulls.
