Two of our hometown universities are cheering along with new live mascots this year.

At the southern end of the Red Line, the University of Indianapolis neighborhood is worth a close study.

After five years of cloaking customers in IU and Butler tees, the owners have finally struck a licensing deal with other Indiana schools.

Local experimental-art collective Know No Stranger lampooned Silicon Valley product launches. The pitch: a robot, Ascme, that only responded to “the crispy rhythm of monosyllabic speech.”

“We’ve had some good discussions with leaders about potential expansions,” says trail executive director Karen Haley.
