The former LongBranch location didn’t leave us hanging for long. A new diner is already in the works.

Since we last raised a glass to Central Indiana’s best beer in 2014, dozens of taprooms have opened here. In service to you, thirsty reader, we drank at all of them. What follows is a sampler of the area’s most sippable new suds. Who’s ready for the next round?

This spring, the taproom hired John J. Hall, former head brewer of the enormous Chicago brewery Goose Island. The place now seems destined for another evolutionary leap.

Situated in a forgettable strip mall along hectic Binford Boulevard, Blind Owl makes that weakness a strength by capitalizing on the boundless cheap space it provides.

Consider the Liquid Thai’d, a brown ale that achieves the impossible feat of incorporating the peanut, pepper, lime leaf, and coconut flavors of a Thai dinner in a light, tasty beverage.

Now that Centerpoint has begun canning a few varieties, expect the name to be on everyone’s lips.

With soaring ceilings, inlaid wood trim, and industrial garage-door windows, the FDR taproom is one of the most beautiful in Central Indiana.

Given its unique taproom, incredible location, and solid beers, though, this place needs very little help from the man upstairs.
