Eat Sheet: Penn & Palate, Graeter’s, and More
» Penn & Palate (28 E. 16th St., 317-602-6975) opened in the Piccadilly building in Herron-Morton Place over the weekend. The owners of Irvington’s The Legend (5614 E. Washington St., 317-536-2028) are behind the 50-seat restaurant. Friday’s soft opening included a variety of comfort-driven dishes, like linguini carbonara dotted with clams, short ribs atop potatoes, and salmon served with roasted cauliflower.
» After opening a location in Fishers late last year (8367 Ambleside Ct., 317-845-0069), Cincinnati-based ice-cream parlor Graeter’s is continuing to expand into the suburbs with a new location slated to open inside The Nash at Carmel City Center (918 S. Rangeline Rd.) in late August or early September. Graeter’s opened its first Indianapolis location at 5560 N. Illinois St. in February 2014.
» Longtime Indianapolis favorite Sangiovese Ristorante is hosting a grand reopening celebration this Friday at its new location inside the Ironworks at Keystone (2727 E. 86th St., 317-731-5186). The tweaked menu stars traditional Italian favorites like bruschetta and veal osso buco, as well as new dishes developed under the direction of owner Chris Evans. Sangiovese will be donating 25% of profits from Friday’s grand-reopening celebration to the Indiana chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
