The Feed: Rene’s Bakery, RippleRide Tours, And More

» Rene’s Bakery (6524 N. Cornell Ave., 317-251-2253) is opening a second location in Noblesville. Owner Albert (Rene) Trevino will start serving his European-style breads and pastries at a retail space inside Broccoli Bill’s (15009 N. Gray Rd., 317-580-1517) later this month. Trevino is the third Indy-based food-biz owner to set up shop inside the Hamilton County grocer in the last year, joining Natural Born Juicers and Caplinger’s Fresh Catch.
» In the we-can’t-believe-it-took-so-long category, Broad Ripple finally has its own pedal pub. RippleRide Tours (317-900-0212) can take you and 14 of your closest friends on a party bike around Broad Ripple, stopping at crowd favorites like Thr3e Wise Men, Broad Ripple Brewpub, HopCat, and Triton Tap.


» The Indiana Wine Fair returns to Brown County on May 15 at the Story Inn (6404 S. State Road 135, Nashville, 812-988-2273). Attendees can expect food trucks, live music, and free one-ounce pours from more than 30 Indiana wine makers. Tickets are $60 (21 and over only), with a $10 designated-driver ticket option. Heads up: You have to get your tickets online in advance. There will be no day-of sales at the gate.


» Cunningham Restaurant Group is opening two new restaurants inside the Ironworks Hotel at 2727 E. 86th St., currently under development near Keystone at the Crossing. According to the Indianapolis Business Journal, Mike Cunningham, proprietor of local favorites Bru Burger, Vida, and Livery, among others, will open Rize and Provisions when the hotel construction is complete in September. Rize is billed as a casual, clean-eating breakfast and lunch spot, while Provisions will target upscale lunch and dinner crowds.
» The Butcher Babe has her own cookbook. Loreal Gavin, former Indianapolis resident, frequent return visitor, and former  Food Network Star contestant, released The Butcher Babe Cookbook: Comfort Food Hacked by a Classically Trained Chef on April 25. Pick up a copy and make ribeye steak, a Butcher Babe favorite, at home.
