50 Days of Holiday Gifts: The Steak Knife

THE STEAK KNIFE
As seen on the tables at Joseph Decuis, the revered fine-dining restaurant in Roanoke, these handforged knives come from the studio of Hoosier blacksmith Curt Lyles. The handles are deer antler, and Lyles can stamp the steel with a name or other personal message. These (along with leather flasks, campfire skillets, rifles, and other items for the taste-conscious woodsman) are made to order, so call with plenty of advance notice. Knives $200 and up each. Curt’s Blacksmith Shop, Middlebury, 574-825-9853, cdlyles.com
