6 Small Business Saturday Hotspots
Whether or not you’re the kind of person who plans on waiting in line for a new ultra HD television on Thanksgiving night, supporting locally owned businesses is always a good idea. Here are a few stops we’ll be hitting up for the sixth annual Small Business Saturday on November 28.
Outpost Indy
This new pop-up shop in Circle Centre, across from H&M, is playing host to a handful of local vendors throughout the holidays. Browse Quil Jewelry’s unique gemstone trinkets, Lux & Ivy’s vintage threads, and local-pride swag from United State of Indiana and People for Urban Progress—including sleeker Dome Bags from the latter. Hop over to the Circle for the Monument’s holiday-lights merriment and hot chocolate from South Bend Chocolate Company.
Makers + Mass Holiday Shoppe
Opening Saturday, this pop-up at 877 Massachusetts Ave. will shine the light on local makers, including a brand-new collaboration between two of Indy’s top brands: Paul & Lydia, a Zionsville outfit known for totes and pillows in gorgeous vintage fabrics, and House of 5th, a line of high-end leather accessories. The new label, called Heather + Truen, melds House of 5th’s hand-dyed leathers with Paul & Lydia’s designs.

Winter Wonderland & Shop Small at Carmel City Center
In addition to some great deals—20 percent off custom blends at Bath Junkie, 25 percent off almost everything at Beauty + Grace, and luxe gifts with purchase at Addendum and 14 Districts Weekend—shoppers can enjoy holiday tunes, complimentary refreshments, and festive store-window art by Carmel High School’s Art Club.
Irvington
Head to the east side for new home store Vintage Motifs’ first-ever clearance event, and swing by James Dant for the dapper dresser in your life—he’ll love the new Indiana-made leather satchels and duffles (below) and the shop’s exclusive seasonal beard oil, “The Nomad.” Also, check out a wide range of artisan gifts from around the world at this year’s Handmade Holiday pop-up at 202 S. Audubon St.
You can now find @lmproducts at James Dant. Crafted in Anderson. We have a duffle and satchel available, as well. #lmproducts A photo posted by James Dant ←A Store for Men→ (@jamesdant_astoreformen) on
Small Mall on Mass Ave
Mass Ave, home to tried-and-true favorites like Homespun: Modern Handmade and Silver in the City, has a new hot spot this year—the Small Mall. Support the local makers represented at the Handmade Promenade pop-up market and treat yourself to a little something crunchy from Just Pop In!. Just down the street, take 10 percent off a $50 purchase at Pattern Workshop—and score a free subscription to the fashion magazine.

Broad Ripple
With its abundance of indie merchants, the Ripple is a seasoned pro when it comes to post–Black Friday festivities. Just scratching the surface: Lucky B Boutique is hosting a buy-one-get-one-half-off sale, Bungalow is giving out swag bags with every $50 purchase, and The Shop is marking down every item (Hayes & Taylor and The Brick Shirt House gear) 30 percent—we’re hoping to score one of the brand-new growler bags made from Indiana T-shirts (below). Pit stops: Brics is offering half-price scoops with a proof of purchase from any locally owned store, and there’s no better place to get into the holiday spirit than The Cake Bake Shop, dolled up with extra twinkles and sparkles right now.
We’ve got some of our tshirts turned into totes and growler bags! We’ll have random designs at random times. You’ll have to come by and see what we have! #theshopindy A photo posted by Hayes and Taylor (@hayesandtaylor) on
