» Popular Broad Ripple restaurant The Garden Table opened a second location this week at 342 Massachusetts Avenue. Customers can grab coffee, juices, and pastry at 7 a.m., with full brunch service starting at 8 a.m.
» Downtown business-lunch favorite Palomino (49 W. Maryland St., 317-974-0400) is closing for two weeks for a renovation. The space will reopen on Monday, January 23, in time for the first day of Devour Indy.
» Rejoice, Whole30 crowd! Indy chef Regina Mehallick is making your January reboot a little less stressful. R2GO (1101 N. College Ave., 317- 737-2543) has housemade, Whole30-compliant entrées in the refrigerator case all month long. Check the store’s Facebook page for daily offerings.
» This is the perfect weather to check out The Gallery Pastry Shop’s (1101 E. 54th St., 317-820-5526) new hot chocolate ganache bar. Choose from three flavors of hot chocolate (white, dark, or salted caramel), and pick from toppings including housemade pralines or torched marshmallows.
» Bourbon Street Distillery (361 Indiana Ave.) closed January 6 after 15 years in business. According to the Indianapolis Star, declining sales and a wish for retirement led the owners to shut down operations and put the property up for sale.
» Gelato maker Cafe Nonna (629 Virginia Ave.) also recently shuttered its doors. The owners announced in a Facebook post that they are auctioning off the two-year-old business this week. No reason was given for the closure.
