The Feed: Late Harvest Kitchen, The Patachou Foundation, and More

» Insider tip: Chef Ryan Nelson of Late Harvest Kitchen (8605 River Crossing Blvd., 317-663-8063) recently started whipping up special entrees for bar patrons on Friday and Saturday nights, ranging from chicken and dumplings and cassoulet to paella and beef Wellington. He only makes 12 servings of these dishes, though, so claim your bar stool early.

» Chef Nelson’s Nora restaurant, The North End Barbecue & Moonshine (1250 E. 86th St., 317-614-7427), is now open for lunch on Sundays, with a few brunch items also available.

» According to the IBJ, Kite Realty Group is opening a 10,000-square-foot strip center on the northeast corner of east 82nd Street and Allisonville Road, where Denver-based Smashburger (2560 E. 146th St., Carmel, 317-798-2168) will open its second Indy location and Dallas-based Pie Five Pizza Co. (48 E. Washington St., 317-955-4300; 6704 Whitestown Pkwy., Zionsville, 317-769-2900) will launch its third local outpost.

» Inside Indiana Business recently reported that The Patachou Foundation, which provides healthy meals to students at five schools on the near-east side, will significantly increase its aid this year. The nonprofit, founded by restaurateur Martha Hoover, has created 18,000 meals over the past two and a half years and plans to provide 16,000 meals in 2016 alone.

» The Maryland basketball team dined at St. Elmo Steak House (127 S. Illinois St., 317-635-0636) on March 10—the night before they had their best half of the season, scoring 54 points in the first half of their Big 10 Tournament victory over Nebraska.
