The Feed: The Return Of Tavern At The Point

» Tavern at the Point (401 Massachusetts Ave., 317-756-9609), the latest from Cunningham Restaurant Group, is now open in the former home of Old Point Tavern. Executive chef Andy Manes runs the kitchen and describes the menu as “down-home country food.” If you’re keeping count, that makes 28 restaurants for CRG, including 2018 Indianapolis Monthly Best Restaurant selections Vida, Union 50, and Provision.

» Foodies and craft cocktail connoisseurs eagerly awaiting the opening of Ed Rudisell’s tiki bar outfit, The Inferno Room, will have to wait a little bit longer. Rudisell announced on Instagram that construction on the space is delayed and expects to open in July.

» The Cincinnati owners of Indy’s upcoming Macaron Bar (425 Massachusetts Ave.) plan an August 1 opening for the company’s fifth location. The shop will also host small-group cooking classes for the classic French confection.

» Here’s hoping the third time’s a charm for a restaurant set to open in the space previously occupied by LongBranch and 22nd Street Diner. According to Indianapolis Business Journal, Loco Mexican Restaurant (2205 N. Delaware St.) will take over the space that saw the two restaurants open and close in less than a year.

» Restaurateur Eddie Sahm is hoping for a late-June opening of Liter House (5301 Winthrop Ave.), his Bavarian restaurant concept taking over the space vacated by Bent Rail Brewery. The culinary team has been busy with recipe-testing and preview dinners.

» Wildwood Market (1015 Virginia Ave., 317-737-2653) launched a meal-prep program in which customers can pick up portioned-out ingredients and instructions for dishes they can make themselves at home.

» Oca (135 N. College Ave.) has Track Pack lunch boxes available for pickup, just in time for Memorial Day weekend. Each box is $14 and includes a sandwich, potato chips, beer pickles, and a peanut butter cookie.

» Provider (1101 E. 16th St., 317-550-5008), the new spot from the Coat Check Coffee team, continues to expand its hours and offerings. On May 23, look for the cocktail, beer, and wine menu to debut, with evening availability until 10 p.m.
