» After encountering some setbacks to its original grand-opening date, Open Society Public House (4850 N. College Ave., 317-999-8706) is finally starting up coffee and pastry service this weekend. Keep tabs on the restaurant’s Facebook page for the official launch date of the full menu.
» Ellie Goulding’s Delirium World Tour stopped in Indy on Saturday, and the pop star scooted down to Mass Ave afterward for drinks at The Eagle (310 Massachusetts Ave., 317-929-1799). Hopefully the restaurant’s famous fried chicken made up for the unseasonably chilly temps.
» The Battistas are at it again. According to the IBJ, Bluebeard (653 Virginia Ave., 317-686-1580) owners Ed Battista and his father Tom Battista are planning to build a three-story mixed-use development at the the northeast end of Mass Ave, next to the former R Bistro space. The duo hopes to attract a restaurant tenant, but has not signed one yet.
» Pittsburgh-based sandwich shop Primanti Bros. (13871 Cabela Pkwy., Noblesville, 317-770-3050) is opening its first Indianapolis-area location in Noblesville this Wednesday. If you’re willing to snag your place in line early, the first 100 customers will win free sandwiches … for a year. The restaurant is also opening a location in the former California Pizza Kitchen space at Circle Centre mall this fall.
