The Oceanaire Seafood Room

Landlocked Indy hasn’t wanted for quality seafood in the 10 years since this exacting franchise opened downtown. Starters particularly impress, from the city’s best crab-cake, generous with sweet lump meat, to the meal-in-its-own-right shrimp and grits. Hearty salads and well-executed sides such as steamed green beans demonstrate the attention executive chef Mark Marlar pays to the details. Showstoppers among the ultra-fresh fish include Maine scallops, striped bass, and grouper. Fresh oysters are a must.
HASH TAG: The Oceanaire serves up golden domes of hash browns, which you’ll want in your take-home box for breakfast the next day.
GET HAPPY: The after-work menu includes kicky calamari with red-chili sauce and crabcake sliders.
SHAKEN NOT STIRRED: The Oceanaire’s old-school appeal shines in a host of classic cocktails such as the James Bond Martini and the fruity Singapore Sling.
