Howl & Hide Pack a Punch
It’s in the bag—Christian Resiak of Howl & Hide is the local maker to watch in 2016. Less than a year after launching his line of genteel carryalls, the Harley rider turned designer was chosen to show at the GQ-backed American Field pop-up market, an esteemed rally of the top 40 U.S.-made brands. Resiak’s bestselling Bookers Rucksack ($500) captures the rugged, dependable spirit of his products with a hand-stitched cowhide exterior that distresses handsomely. “This isn’t fast fashion,” he says. “When a guy buys one of my designs, he can pass it down to his son.”
