Martha Hoover One Of Fortune's "Most Innovative"
Fortune named Martha Hoover, restaurateur and founder of the Patachou, Inc. empire, to their 2017 list of Most Innovative Women in Food and Drink. The visionary behind an ever-growing number of Indianapolis-area restaurants and the Patachou Foundation is acknowledged for her commitment to social change through food. The magazine noted her mission to provide employees with benefits, career and financial planning assistance, and the feeding of children in after-school care and summer programs.
Hoover joins a list of women with diverse roles ranging from CEOs, winemakers, master rum blender, celebrity chefs, entrepreneurs, and activists. Notable names honored by Fortune include April Bloomfield, the force behind New York’s Spotted Pig pub, Sarah Michelle Gellar, co-founder of Foodstirs, and Vivian Howard, chef, author, and host of PBS’s A Chef’s Life. While the honor will no doubt continue to raise Hoover’s national profile, we hope she takes us up on our request to be Indianapolis’s Tourism Ambassador to France.
