NEW IN TOWN: Duos Kitchen

If you’ve been chasing the Duos mobile kitchen around town with all of its deliciously healthy breakfast and lunch choices fit for vegans and omnivores alike, you might just want them to stay put for a while so you can catch them when you’re not on the fly. Well, that’s exactly what fans of John Garnier and Becky Hostetter were able to do as the pair, now famous for their soups, salads, and hearty lunchtime pies, opened up shop on the ground floor of the International Medical Group at 2960 N. Meridian Street last Thursday.

At their new cafeteria, they offer a menu that’s broader than their food truck and Saturday’s Indy Winter Market stand (where they generally offer up warm bowls of Tunisian breakfast stew). Breakfast options such as scrambled eggs and buttermilk biscuits are offered starting at 7 a.m. daily, followed by a super fresh salad bar, sandwiches, and “balance bowls” with plenty of brown rice and beans. We stopped in on a blustery Friday afternoon and chose a Mexican balance bowl with spinach, scallions, chopped egg, and a tasty chipotle aioli. We didn’t even feel too guilty about a browned-butter chocolate chip cookie on the side. Rest assured that the truck is still out on the street most days feeding the rest of Indy a hearty alternative to burgers and fries.
