Swoon List: FoxGardin Kitchen & Ale, Plow & Anchor, and More
The Swoon List compiles our latest food-and-drink favorites. They’re not ranked, just delicious.
FoxGardin Kitchen & Ale’s (215 S. Main St., Fortville, 317-485-4085) warm, buttery pecan-pie perfection, made from scratch by chef Jake Burgess’s grandmother.
Plow & Anchor’s (43 E. 9th St., 317-964-0538) rich, tangy BJ & PB: slabs of crunchy housemade bread topped with piles of arugula and heavily smeared with roasted-beet jam, rosemary-pecan butter, and herbed chevre.
Tandoori chicken lettuce wraps with peanut and spicy-sweet chili sauce at High Velocity (10 S. West St., 317-860-6500). The slivers of pickles, though not traditional, add a nice sour note to this DIY starter.
Dense, chewy pork buns stuffed with barbecue filling, ordered off the dim sum menu at Szechwan Garden (3649 Lafayette Rd., 317-328-2888).
The thick, juicy salmon-patty sandwich at The Local Eatery & Pub (14655 N. Gray Rd., Westfield, 317-218-3786), swiped with remoulade and served with a side Caesar salad.
