Swoon List: Open Society Public House, Cake Bake Shop, and More
The Swoon List compiles our latest food-and-drink favorites. They’re not ranked, just delicious.
Open Society Public House’s (4850 N. College Ave., 317-999-8706) sleek coffee bar is now open, serving up Madcap Coffee, Tinker Coffee Co., and specialty espresso drinks like the Arbol Mule, infused with ginger, steamed milk, and a kick of arbol chile pepper.
Cake Bake Shop (6515 Carrollton Ave., 317-257-2253) recreated the flavors of our favorite Girl Scout cookie with its indulgent Samoa cake: six layers of moist caramel cake filled with Callebaut Belgian chocolate ganache, toasted coconut, caramel, and shortbread butter cookies.
ClusterTruck delivered Bru Burger Bar‘s (410 Massachusetts Ave., 317-635-4278; 12901 Old Meridian St., Carmel, 317-975-0033) Stilton Bleu Cheese Burger to our door in a jiff. The sweetness of pear-bacon jam cuts through the tang of blue cheese and truffle aioli, and a mound of fried onions adds the ideal amount of crunch to every bite.
A mammoth-sized bowl of freshly mashed guacamole at Mr. Tequila’s Cantina & Grill (931 S. East St., 317-991-3058), teeming with lime and customized to your preference of mild, medium, or hot.
The Crab and Octopus Roll appetizer at Vida (601 E. New York St., 317-420-2323), with the chopped seafood wrapped in avocado and seasoned with jalapeño, sesame, mango, chili, and white soy ponzu.
