Swoon List: Open Society, Rook, and More
The Swoon List compiles our latest food-and-drink favorites. They’re not ranked, just delicious.
Open Society‘s (4850 N. College Ave., 317-999- 8706) hulking, velvety tomahawk steak, slathered in a figgy glaze. The menu says it serves up to three people, but you won’t want to share this beauty.
A peach waffle, topped with warm slices of fresh, local fruit and served with blueberry syrup (not shown), from the Fond stand at the Garfield Park Farmers Market (317-763-0099).
Tender, grilled salmon with a side of tangy-sweet ginger coleslaw, drizzled with rosemary-mustard vinaigrette at Locally Grown Gardens (1050 E. 54th St., 317-255-8555).
The soft, generously buttered Bavarian pretzel sticks at Rush on Main (112 S. Main St., Zionsville, 317-344-2416), served with nacho cheese for dunking.
The rich and hearty Shao Bing at Rook (501 Virginia Ave., 317-737-2293), a flaky sesame puff pastry stuffed with crab, sprouts, avocado, cilantro, and a swipe of Chinese sausage remoulade.
