Video: Behind the Scenes of Our Best Restaurants Issue
Indy Style goes behind the scenes with us to get a glimpse at all that goes into selecting the cover subject and image for this year’s Best Restaurants cover. IM editor-in-chief Amanda Heckert, design director Todd Urban, associate art director Katie Cline, and staff photographer Tony Valainis all make appearances in the art-gathering and decision-making processes.
“We put a lot of work into each issue,” says Heckert, “and the cover is sort of our pitch for why to buy the magazine.” Our team takes a look at plates from Delicia, Petite Chou, 10-01 Food & Drink, Cerulean, The Loft at Traders Point Creamery, and more—ultimately arriving at which of the offerings will make its way to the cover.
